Michael Jackson - King of Pop
Michael Joseph Jackson was born in August 1958, and died at the age of 50 from drug overdose. He was the 7th of nine children, out of which eight had an impact in the music industry. Known as the King of Pop, he was a singer, songwriter, dancer, and the most popular entertainer in the world in the early and mid 80s.
He was the youngest of 5 boys who their father pushed to form a music group which later became known as the Jackson 5. He emerged as the lead singer of the group and showed great talent in his vocal depth and range. Their song “I want you back” was a huge success in 1969 and they grew to be a really famous band. A couple of years later, Michael decided to launch his solo career.
His great breakthrough happened in 1979 with “Off the wall”. His next album, “Thriller” was the biggest selling album back in the time, selling around 45 million copies around the world.
